Lecture series organized by the members of Amergraph team

Social and Cultural Anthropology Today is a lecture series at the Department of Social and Cultural Anthropology in Marburg. It comprises various lectures that cover current issues and research activities in contemporary social and cultural anthropology.

This winter semester edition titled Graphic Communication Beyond “Writing” is organized by the members of Amergraph team: Ernst Halbmayer, Christiane Clados and Anne Goletz. It presents examples of the recent anthropological research from our project: More than Writing. Moreover, it hosts international specialists on issues of Amerindian graphic communication systems. It thus illustrates the current state of ethnological debates, theories and methods and their relevance beyond classical Euro-American theories of writing.
